Pix is a happy pixel part of a trending AMIGA video game. Until one day there is a blackout and comes out of the screen.

Upon returning (not effortless) to his beloved monitor, he realizes that something has changed.
Although the power has returned, the Internet is still not working and the screen is full of ugly pixels. It seems that he has returned to the past!

Turn On your AMIGA and visit games from more than three decades ago and collect all the colored points of each of their levels to be able to return home.

Main Features:

  • Redpill Amiga AGA Game
  • 64 Colorful Pixel-Art graphics
  • 16 color Background Sprites
  • Wonderful music based on the original songs
  • 2 characters: Pix Cube and Pix Slime
  • Secrets to be found in each level
  • Funny enemies
  • Needs a 2Mb because it's a AGA game

Exist a phisical version of The Lost Pixel, but due to shipping costs, the physical edition costs a minimum of €10.09 for Spain and €18.05 for Europe. very nice game (btw, I'm writing a review for zzap! magazine italy), but I have an issue: I reached the first of the SMB levels and the screen goes blank; is that a bug or maybe I am the only one ewxperiencing this? please help. Running 1.2 version of the games with fs-uae on linux

I was aable to complete the game. probably it was related to the fact I was snapshottting a lot for the review

ahh okay, what a scare you've given me hahaha. The game is very tested and works without problems and I also sometimes crash games in winuae when I take snapshots. I have done many tests with games made in Redpill and they have very rarely failed me. Winuae already explains it this way with an information window when taking a snapshot. On the other hand, although you don't say it, I would love to see a review of The Lost Pixel in your excellent magazine. You have my permission, of course. It would be an honor. A big hug to the entire Amiguera community of Italy, from Spain. Amiga Forever !!!

I've been having exactly the same issue as kk0nrad, except on WinUAE. I get to the SMB levels, it shows the screen briefly and then goes black, with the music playing in the background.

I originally thought it was a save state issue too, so I replayed from scratch without saving and got the same issue when I reached level 5. I've also tried with different versions of WinUAE. So not sure what's causing it. On the plus side, I'm really good at the game now XD

I had a friend run a save state and the WinUAE debugger shows it's looping through 3 different exceptions (30, 26, 27). If that helps at all.

don't tell me!?!?!? Well, if this error happens to more than one person, it is worth considering, it is no longer an isolated case. I'll look into it and thank you for all the information you've offered me. I'm sure they will help me. Thank you so much. Are you running version 1.2 or 1.1?

(1 edit)

Version 1.2 ADF was where I saw it. I did see someone on EAB having the same issue too. Happy to send you a save state if that helps with debugging. I basically get 3 or 4 frames of the first SMB level before it goes black, maybe before Pix spawns?

You're correct, the game gets black in first SMB level. I've just arranged this. You can try now. A lot of thanks for all, your help has been very appreciated. A big huge !!

We took another look at the final version of the game and it plays much better now. Our German-language review can be found in our recorded livestream starting at 02:08:43. English subtitles are also available. Thank you for this great game and hugs to you. 😘🤗

i'm pleasure for your review. It's a honor that my game is in your livestream. Thanks a lot. A bit huge and Amiga Forever !!!

cool game lots of Fun!!  thanks for the great release!

A lot of thanks Renster72. I'm very pleasure for the good comments of the game. Amiga Forever !!!

Here is my review of the Lost Pixel, thanks for a brilliant game  :)

Wowww excellent review.  A pleassure that you make a review of my game. A lot of thanks !!! A big huge !!! Amiga Forever !!!

My absolute pleasure! Can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Will be a 8 bits port game. Still didn't say anthing yet XDDD.

Really good new Amiga game, great that you got the release version ready. I added it to my latest video "Gameplay of New Amiga Games from September 2024", which also includes all the other recently released Amiga games.

WoWWW, Is Amazing !!! I'm really granted for this and is a honor that my game is in your video. A lot of thanks and a big huge. Amiga Forever !!!

Hi. First of all congratulations for this great port. The game is awesome. However, I have a question for you: why there isn't any continue option like the original PC game? It's quite annoying to repeat all stages when you reached the 4th or 5th world. Are you planning to add it in the future? (I'd need this info for a review I'm writing on a printed mag, thank you). Best regards.

Wow, I never thought that the game would have continues XD. I don't think I will implement it in the near future, since the game can be finished easily if you are careful, and if you find the secrets it is even easier. I hope I don't cause inconvenience and frustration because of it XD. There is a longplay of the game on my YouTube channel so you can see where almost all of those secrets are. I encourage people to watch it if they have trouble beating the game, although I honestly believe that it is a game with a medium-easy difficulty level. Thanks for the comment and for the future review of my game in your magazine. It's an honor to be in it. A big hug and if you have any questions you just have to ask me. I will be happy to answer it. Forever Friend!!!

Nice to know, than you. I also noticed you published a v1.2 of the game. Great, however the credits page got somehow broken in the latest release: I can't read the text at left and right borders of the screen. Maybe a emulation issue, but I feel better if I report this to you.

Not possible. How you watch, i see the config screen correctly. Review your winaue or Amiga Forever graphics config.

Thanks, I will look into this. Probably the windowed mode of that version of winuae had issues with the fake scanlines.

It's is possible yes. I hope that you fix it. Greetings !!!

Great game.  Just finished it with save states, didn't realize it was such a platformer, and I love platformers.  Nice work, look forward to your next Amiga game!

yeahhh!!! a lot of thanks !!! A pleassure that you like my game. I'm very happy for this. One thousands Thanks !!! My next game will be a conversion of 8 bit game. I just make the graphics now. Best graphics than 8 bit version clearly XD, and a lot of colours, for this, the game will be a AGA version of Amiga. As soon how i starting the programming i will to show my work. A big Huge !!!

I dunno if its the config or not but running on a mister FPGA with the amigavision config (= A1200 minimig preconfigured) the .adf wont work, it gives something like "no dos device" in floppy when reset and says N0DOs under the icon when inserted, also on a500 setting it just gives a flashing grey screen.

The .lha works fine when extracted, great game too.

just fyi

Hi, The ADF possible not work because the ADF is a HD, 1,44Mb. The game not fit in a normal DD (880Kb) floppy. Sorry for this, i try to repair this later, when i have time XD. Thanks for the post !!!

(-1)

aw , okay - its no critique lol the others work fine on the mFPGA , ill see when the update is and check it thanks for replying. (very nice game btw)

Thanks Catham, at last i put de game into a ADF DD disk (880kb). And i uploaded a few weeks ago. You can try this too. A big huge !!!

it certainly seems to work (im not an advocate of mister FPGA like pcn or anything , i just think its mighty convenient to have everythign in place in the size of one soap bar) . with the cheap clones arriving fpga/mister or handheld version have significantly increased the base. Its probably worth checking on release if you have access to one :)

(+1)

I only have access to an Amiga 1200 with PiStorm and another with a Blizzard and it worked on both. I am also not a fan of those fpga and misters, although I do see the A500mini favorably since it is more accessible to play their games for people who did not have a friend or for people who do not want to complicate things. In the world of Amiga almost everything has a place XDD. A retro greeting!!!

This game is nice! There are some glitches but nothing major. I play the game on A4000. Thanks :)

yeahhh a lot of thanks. Is a honor that The Lost Pixel is executed in a Amiga 4000 XD. Kisses from Spain by an Amiga 1200 Pistormized !!!

Ah, the new update to 1.2 fixed the glitches I had :D Thanks, that deserves a little extra.

Yeah, in theory yes, the fixes are gone. The last version of Redpill has solved that problem. Although I still have to try it XD. I can't live any longer hahahaha. I hope so. Thanks for playing my game and for the comment. It's a pleassure that my game are linking by all Amigans. I am very happy. Amiga Forever !!!

Thanks for the updated version !

You are most welcome. A lot of thanks !!!

Hi , I cant get this game to work on theA500mini?

(1 edit)

In theory, the version that exists for A500mini should work for you. Previously unzipping the file. Try it and tell me if it works well for you. Thank you.

Hi,  I unziped and tried every file lha-adf , no luck unfortunately.

Do you try this archive: The Lost Pixel v1.1 A500Mini/AmigaPiStorm ?

(1 edit)

Yes and it ends in a software failure : error 8000 0003 task: 000201E8

how much RAM are you used? For execute this version you need 32MB in your A500Mini. A can make a 4Mb version if you would. You just have to ask whenever you want.

Hi ! Great work & great use of the RedPill engine, thank you !! Love the music too !

Hiiii, thank you very much for your comment. I'm very glad you like it. After a year of work, all these positive comments i'm receiving are appreciated. A bib huge and Amiga Forever !!!

Great game, but an ADF file is needed.

The game in its floppy version occupies almost 880kb. So I'll try to make it fit and make a floppy version. I don't promise anything XD. Stay tuned in case I get it. Thanks for commenting.

I just uploaded the ADF version. It didn't fit on a Double Density floppy disk so I had to put it on a High Density one. Let's see if over time I can get it into a Double Density one. I hope it helps you.

Thanks for your efforts ! It refuses to load in WinUae but I got it finally working with the lha file. Thanks again and very nice game !

Oh, I cannot donate because I don´t have a Paypal account because here in Thailand you only can get a business account in Paypal and I don´t have a business here.

Google Pay maybe ? :-)

OK, it worked with the card ! Donated 5 dollar ! :-)

ohhh don't worry about that. it wasn't necessary, but i thank very much. i'm glad you like the game, this was the idea, that all Amigans in the world they could enjoy it. Thanks a lot and a big huge from Spain. Amiga Forever !!!

One of my brothers lives in Spain, Zaragoza !

oh really? I live 2 hours from Zaragoza. Great city and good people. A pleasure.

Make the floppy drive in the virtual Amiga a HD drive, and it works.

i just upload, at last, a adf 880kb version. This version, i supposed, that works fine in all Amigas with any configuration. Thanks for waiting XD.

ADF version works! Thanks!

i just upload, at last, a adf 880kb version. This version, i supposed, that works fine in all Amigas with any configuration. Thanks for waiting XD.

How do you make that game?
Is there actually a way without asm?
Any software for win/linux to make it easier?

the game is made by Redpill engine. i don't have programming knowledge, i'm sorry XD. This game made with ASM it would be incredible, honestly. Thanks for comment

(1 edit)

Any chance for an adf file ?

Edit: Never mind,  got it running under WinUae. Great game !

i just upload, at last, a adf 880kb version. This version, i supposed, that works fine in all Amigas with any configuration. Thanks for waiting XD.

This game will be added to the next batch of new games on Lemon Amiga. I've made the page and grabbed some screenshots, so you can expect it to appear at some point.

Excellent music!  I love it. Is this taken from an old archive or is it new?  On the module itself it says Nova - ChipHappens. Do you know any more?  Do you have a real name so I can add it to the game page on Lemon Amiga??

wow, it is an honor that my game appears on the Lemon Amiga page, thank you very much!!! The music (mods) are taken from the pages "Amiga Music Preservation" and "The Mod Archive". I'm sorry I can't give you the real names of these melodies because I changed their names a while ago and I don't remember them anymore, but it's similar to the level at which they sound. But you can put the following: Menu=menu_dance.mod, Level Tetris=tetris.mod, Level WonderBoy=Wonder Boy Master.mod, Level Bubble Bobble=Bubble.mod, Level Pac-man=Pacman beats.mod, Level Mario=AcidMario .mod. I hope I am helping you.For any other questions, do not hesitate to ask. I will be delighted. I'm very happy that people are liking the game The Lost Pixel so much. And I'm glad that all of us friends are enjoying it. A big hug!!!

Hi , good jobb on the port. Question, Will this game work on the A500mini ? and is there anything new for the Amiga version vs pc version?

Sorry, it doesn't work on the A500 mini, but don't worry, right now I'm going to upload a file so it can run on the A500 mini, or so I hope XD. And regarding whether the Amiga version has any improvement over the PC version, the answer is no, on the contrary, the Amiga version due to limitations with the language used and the speed of the computer and the number of colors it can offer, well. It has fewer colors, only 1 parallax scroll, the music is better in the PC version, in the final screens I have had to eliminate some enemies so that the game runs more smoothly, but overall I think I have a decent conversion. or so I hope XD. Greetings and I hope you enjoy it. Don't hesitate to ask any questions, I'm happy to answer and talk to Amiga users around the world!!!

i just upload the A500_Mini version of the game. You try it and tell me how it works.

Version 1.0 is still the same as the old release. There are still only 3 levels to go through....

It just can't be. I just tried it and it works well. See if you are running the demo version instead of the new final one.

Eh... my mistake, sorry. Everything is working fine. The game is great! Greetings!

ohhh what a relief XD.

Thanks for trying it and for the video. I hope you like it. A big hug.

ports ports ports :p this would work out rather well on a c64 and a zx i suppose - or the thing that everyone fears : the ST - but i kinda like coincollectors like coinzarmine hermanos old tower and space cavern blaster, keep my eye on it

It already looks and sounds great, even though it's not even finished yet. I also included it in my new "Gameplay of New Amiga Games from July 2024" video along with all the other newly released Amiga games.

Thanks for the video !!!

Very nice game idea. However, the playability currently suffers from the rather spongy controls, which means that jumps can be executed too imprecisely. Hopefully this will be improved. The rating will be given in the final version. Our German-language review can be found in our recorded livestream starting at 02:34:47. English subtitles are also available. Subscription to our YouTube and Twitch channel is welcome. 🙂

heeey thank you very much for the review!!! Jump control is already improved. Beta testers are very important in the final phases of a video game's development and I had not realized that problem XD. I'll take a look at your video. A greeting and a hug !!!

We are really looking forward to it. The game has great potential and brings back many childhood memories. Many greetings back and *rehugs* 🤗
